Final Challenge Check-in

Flexing my bicep…

I swear I saw some definition, but the camera couldn't catch it.

Starting challenge weight: 223.4 pounds

I must thank Leigh Peele for having this challenge! I've learned a lot and have brand new ammo for sniping at my goo. I've got a long way to go, but the challenge has me energized. I proved to myself that I can keep a deficit if I focus! Yeah, I had a few little slip-ups, but I got back on track.

So, for you Leigh Peele... a little song!

And a bit of link love... Fat Loss Troubleshooter Blog is worth a read!

Day 28 One Big Meal

Day 28 One Big Meal

Day 28 One Big Meal - meal plan

This is what I ate on Friday. I started with pumpkin protein pancakes and sliced orange, then had a blueberry smoothie mid-morning, followed by oatmeal and a turkey salad for lunch. My late lunch was a Precision Nutrition Greek Burger accompanied by PN Mediterranean Salad and more sliced orange. Dinner was another round of Greek Burger and salad.

The calories in the linked picture do not include tea or fish oil caps.

Training: Resistance: Counter Push Ups

Start of Challenge Push Ups End of Challenge Push Ups
1st set = 9 1st set = 14
2nd set = 9 2nd set = 11
3rd set = 5 3rd set = 8
Total reps = 23
Total reps = 33

I should have picked just this one exercise and tried to be more consistent with it than I actually was. I was alternating between doing this and the assisted pull-up machine on gym workout days, but the latter is harder on my shoulder. I'll continue the push-ups after the challenge.

WaterForward Ho!

I've easily achieved the recommended gallon a day of water, as that was what I was drinking before anyway. After listening to one of Leigh's podcasts where she really recommends a minimum of a gallon and a half, I started trying for 18 cups of water a day and hope to work my way up to the larger amount. I do get a gallon and a half in on most workout days.

Rest

Sleep, with few exceptions has been good. A steady 7-8 hours most nights... with some nights getting to 10 or even 12 hours. I've had at least one total rest day each week.

Notes

Final weights and measures were taken November 15th, Saturday morning before breakfast. One Big Meal photos were all taken on Friday the 14th and composited on Saturday the 15th. Final challenge photos were taken Saturday afternoon. Flexed bicep shot and street clothes shot also taken on Saturday afternoon. Song written and recorded Saturday evening. My first song recording ever!

It's been one busy day on the computer!

Next

A higher calorie week to let my body rest.

Then forward ho!

  1. You're not just changing size, but shape as well. It's especially obvious in those profile shots.

    Well done!

Cynthia... WOW. What an awesome end of challenge update! You should be really proud of yourself for hanging in there and doing a wonderful job with the challenge despite all the headaches and other issues. LOVE the song... what a riot!

Congratulations on your loss. 10+ inches is a lot!

  5. Thanks everyone! You have all had great progress too!

I had a great deal of FUN doing the update yesterday, but I sure didn't eat or drink much! Maybe 1200 calories yesterday, MAYBE! And darn little water. So I'm back with the headaches today, but not for long.

Hey, but I actually figured out how to record a song!

Which was SO not planned... it just sort of happened yesterday evening! I didn't even know where I was supposed to plug the microphone in, LOL! I never even knew my sound card had a recording widget as part of the software until last night. So I'm glad y'all liked it!

I want to keep the losses going if I can... each pound gone, I feel better and better!

  10. Thanks! I admit, I felt pretty punky and very zombie-like yesterday, probably got dehydrated Saturday. But I think things will kick back to normal soon.

Glad you like the hat, Mike! It is my favorite and has been around for many years now! Along with others!
