Two hours in the pool!
I'm not sure what possessed me!
I did water aerobics, hard, but possibly not as hard as usual, thanks to not wanting to irritate my foot too much or my shoulder. I did use the aqua gloves again. Julie worked us hard on legs today, I know I am going to feel it tomorrow. So, after that, I decided to swim slowly for a quarter mile. My incentive was THE BOOK.
My health club keeps a note book, and if you can check off enough miles, classes, minutes, etc... you can win a T-shirt. Well, last year, I'd gotten close to 100 miles of walking when the plantar fasciitis kicked in and walking was limited. Only another 400 miles to a T-shirt. The walking club is the "500 Club". (Hubby might make his shirt this year... he's got 300+ miles!)
For the swimming club "Century Swim", you mark every quarter mile and you get a T-shirt for 100 miles. I'm at around 18 and counting.
You can make a mark for each class you take at the club as well, known as "Class Club".
Anyway, I have to admit, it does give me the incentive to plug onwards. I like making my mark in the book. I hope one day I'll earn a T-shirt doing "something".
Anyway, I was tired after the swimming and I was going to get out, but then I thought I could walk a quarter mile and finish off my legs. Well, I ended by walking another HALF mile... got out of the pool TWO HOURS after getting in. Man, I was beat! I was starting to FEEL that lactic acid each time I'd get to one end of the pool and have to step against the current on my way to the other end!
Once out of the locker room, I quick downed a serving and a half of chocolate whey protein in water. That perked me up enough to do a quick shopping trip to Safeway, for more organic spinach, Goji berries and my beloved Scharffen Berger cocoa powder. I also got some zucchini, a red onion and found a new food to try, Tofu Shirataki noodles, which are very low carb and low calorie. I'll let you know what I think later.
Getting the Goji berries required a trip to the CANDY AISLE! That was a trial, because hubby had informed me previously that Safeway was carrying new brands of dark chocolate. I actually picked up one bar, salivated over it (Only mentally, I didn't *actually* drool on it.) and put it back down. But then, then I saw THE ONE. Côte d‘Or Experiences Noir 86% Cacao. It was the 86% that did it. Had to try that! Well, I only ate two squares when I got home and I was satisfied. Very good, very crisp, very dark. I'm going to see if I can eat a square a day and learn to be happy with that until it is gone. I just hope I'm not a goner! You know me and dark chocolate!
